We all go through days when everything feels gloomy and depressing. Even simply getting out of bed seems like the clearing-blocks-and-staying-balancedtoughest chore in the world. You might have thought you are just being lazy but the truth is that laziness itself is a symptom of accumulated negative energy.

We must, therefore, have rituals for regularly clearing negative energy from our aura and our lives. Here are a few ideas that you can incorporate into your life:

Daily Meditation or Prayer
The 45 minutes before you go to sleep and the 45 minutes after you wake up in the morning are the two most important phases of your day. They not only set the tone for how your day will pass but also for what the next day will be like. If you wake up and go to sleep with negativity in your mind, then your days are bound to be riddled with negative situations. It is, therefore, absolutely mandatory that you establish morning and bedtime rituals for yourself and try to stick to them through thick or thin.

Mornings: It is advisable to wake up early in order to give a perfect and peaceful start to your day. Freshen up and hydrate yourself by drinking water. Thereafter, do some kind of a spiritual practice that you truly enjoy. It could be anything from meditation to prayer, or chanting, or maybe, even writing down affirmations. In order to choose the right practice for yourself focus on how you feel about it. If it makes you happy and fills your heart with joy, then you have found the right practice for yourself. Also, give yourself time to enjoy a hearty breakfast. Don’t eat in a hurry, and definitely not on the run. Make your entire morning an exercise in tranquility and mindfulness. This will set the tone for the rest of the day and you will be more present in everything you do.

Bedtime routine: Try to stay away from all electronic gadgets as much as possible. Take the time to truly relax by doing something that feels good to you. I personally feel that there can’t be a more decadent bedtime ritual than the luxury of taking a nice warm bath with scented candles and soothing music in the background.

To end the day on an ideal note, do your spiritual practice again. Go to bed with gratitude in your heart, looking forward to the next day. Affirm to yourself that tomorrow will be another beautiful and magical day. You will be surprised by how your days will suddenly start becoming more magical and beautiful.

Special Rituals/Meditations for Clearing Blockages

Salt Water Bath
Salt is said to absorb negative energy. Adding salt to your bath water and then soaking in it for a while is one of the most effective methods for removing any negative energy from your aura.

You can also place regular salt or salt crystals in small bowls around your house to remove negative energy from your environment.

Forgiveness
Non-forgiveness is the root causes of all suffering. Let go of the past and embrace the possibility of tomorrow by fully forgiving everyone who you believe has wronged you. You must understand that forgiveness is not something you do for others. Instead, it is a gift you give yourself. By forgiving others, you are setting yourself free from the anger and toxicity that is holding your happiness hostage. You don’t even need to tell the other person that you have forgiven them – releasing them and the memory of their wrong actions from your subconscious is what truly matters.

Practice this affirmation every day: I forgive myself for everything, I love myself unconditionally. I forgive everyone whom I believe has wronged me, I love everyone unconditionally.

It will likely not be easy saying this affirmation to yourself at the beginning but you must persist. Keep saying it to yourself until it begins to start feeling like the truth. Notice what emotions are coming up but don’t get attached to them. Witness them like an observer. Soon all negative emotions will dissolve and become replaced by a profound sense of inner peace.

Love
Love is what makes the world go around. Believe it or not, the most important kind of love is self-love. You must love yourself unconditionally. Is that selfish? Think about this, how can you ever give something to anyone else if you don’t have it for yourself?

Also, self-love does not mean egoism – it means having a healthy relationship with yourself. It implies living with dignity and self-respect. Give yourself love by taking out time for yourself to enjoy the things you like doing. Take good care of yourself – nurture your mind and nourish your body with good books and great food. Embrace your beauty by keeping yourself well-groomed and nicely dressed at all times. Don’t wait for someone else to make you feel special, become the most special person in the world for yourself.

Mindfulness
If you’ll observe your thoughts carefully, you’ll start to realize that most of your worries and fears are not related to the present moment. More often than not, you are either embroiled in memories of the past or frozen with fear in anticipation of the future. Simply bringing yourself to the present moment will clear the negative energy that has accumulated in your consciousness. Of course, it will take practice to master the art of mindfulness. What matters is to become more observant of your thoughts and feelings with regards to the present moment. Don’t analyze what comes up, and definitely, don’t attach yourself to the memories and emotions it brings up.

As simple as these practices sound, following them religiously will completely transform your life. Miracles are created by a shift in consciousness. Once you change the reality in your mind, the world around you changes. Embrace yourself fully and let your senses drown in the sweet intoxication of unconditional love – your life will start to fully blossom with positivity.
