Are You Thinking About Changing Jobs?
The Occupational Decision Tarot Reading
There are few decisions in life that carry quite the same weight as the question of whether to leave a job.
On the surface, it can look purely practical — salary, opportunity, stability, growth. But anyone who has genuinely wrestled with this decision knows it goes much deeper than a pros and cons list. There is the question of identity. Of courage. Whether you are moving toward something or simply running from something. Of whether the timing is right or whether patience is still the wiser path.
The Occupational Decision tarot spread was created for exactly this moment of professional crossroads.
Unlike a general career reading, this spread is specifically designed to hold both sides of the decision simultaneously — and to illuminate both with equal honesty. It does not nudge you toward leaving or staying. It shows you the genuine reasons that exist on each side, the hidden factors that may not be obvious from where you are currently standing, and the energies most likely to shape the outcome, whichever path you choose.
Sometimes the cards will confirm what you already know in your heart but have been afraid to act on. Sometimes they will surface a perspective that reframes everything. Occasionally, they will suggest that the question itself needs to change before the decision becomes clear. All of these are valuable — and all of them are more useful than making a significant life decision from a place of anxiety or confusion alone.
Rev. Sheri of Angel Messenger has always believed that the most important professional decisions deserve more than practical calculation. They deserve honest reflection on what your soul is actually asking for — and what kind of life you are genuinely trying to build. This reading is an invitation into that deeper conversation.
Take your time before you begin. Hold both possibilities — staying and leaving — with equal openness. Then let the cards show you what you most need to see.

Frequently Asked Questions — Occupational Decision Tarot Reading
What is the Occupational Decision tarot spread? The Occupational Decision spread is specifically designed to help you navigate the question of whether to change jobs or career paths. Unlike a general career reading, this spread deliberately explores both sides of the decision — revealing genuine reasons to stay as well as genuine reasons to go, along with the hidden factors and likely outcomes that may not be visible from where you currently stand.
How is this different from the Occupational Oracle reading? The Occupational Oracle spread looks broadly at your current workplace situation — what is happening, what you want, and whether your current path has a future. The Occupational Decision spread is more specifically focused on the active question of changing jobs or careers. If you are genuinely weighing whether to stay or go, this is the more targeted reading. Many people find it useful to do both for a complete picture.
What if I am not sure whether I want to leave — I just know something feels wrong? This is actually one of the most common and most valuable ways to come to this reading. You do not need to be certain you want to leave in order for the spread to be useful. Bring your honest uncertainty and let the cards help you understand what is driving the feeling that something needs to change.
Can this reading be used for other major decisions, not just job changes? The Occupational Decision spread is optimized for career and employment decisions. For broader life decisions or choices between two paths in other areas of your life, the Two-Choices spread or the Decision spread may be more appropriate.
What if the cards point in a different direction than I expected? This is often when a reading is most valuable. If the cards surface reasons to stay that you had been dismissing, or confirm a desire to leave that you had been suppressing, that honest reflection is exactly what the tarot is designed to offer. Sit with an unexpected result before dismissing it — it often contains the most important insight.
How soon after doing this reading should I make my decision? There is no required timeline — the reading is a tool for reflection, not a deadline. Give yourself time to sit with what the cards reveal before acting. Major professional decisions deserve space for the insight to settle alongside your own practical considerations before you move forward.

About These Free Tarot Card Readings
Every reading on this site was created with a single intention — to meet you exactly where you are.
The cards are drawn at random from Rev. Sheri’s curated collection of ten carefully chosen tarot decks, upright or reversed, just as they would appear in a real reading. There are no predetermined outcomes and no fixed answers — only the guidance that arrives when you bring an honest question and an open heart.
Rev. Sheri built these tools as an extension of her work at Angel Messenger, where she and her team have been offering free spiritual guidance since 2003. The same values that guide Angel Messenger guide every reading here: compassion over fear, presence over performance, and the belief that genuine spiritual support should be available to anyone who seeks it — freely and without barrier.
